A Chargemaster Revenue Enhancement is a manual optimization of the rate structure. It is beneficial for facilities with an average daily census of less than ten patients. The Chargemaster Revenue Enhancement includes an analysis of the Chargemaster; an optimization of the charges; recommendations for other revenue enhancements based on current utilization; and a review of the facility's Cost Report. The Chargemaster Revenue Enhancement evaluates the Hospital Cost Report and current charges by financial class and selects individual line items for enhancement.
Ordinarily a facility generates 80% of its revenue from 20% of its Chargemaster line items. BRHS also includes, as part of the service, pricing formulas for CS, Pharmacy, IVs, Hospital Prepared Trays, and Rental Equipment, if needed.
At the conclusion of the project the hospital will receive a report detailing the recommended line items to increase, current charge, recommended dollar increase, per cent increase, and the annualized projected dollar impact of the recommended change.
